Holless Wilbur Allen - Holless Wilbur Allen was the inventor of the compound bow. He was granted a patent for “Archery Bow with Draw Force Multiplying Attachments” in December 1969 and with the help of bowmaker Tom Jennings became the first manufacturer of compound bows.
